I realise that its valentines day tomorrow but more importantly its the new season of Big Fat Gypsy Wedding!! If you haven't seen it you need to! Anyone not from the UK I am not sure the best way to describe the awesome-ness of this show but its got to be seen to be believed (although not the best presentation of the UK).
So on to the pretty stuff....
The next day after the Leopard nail tutorial I broke three nails :( and its half term which means I can actually have long nails. Now long nails for me make me feel all girly and make me feel extra feminine. I think its because you have to be more delicate and dainty with longer nails. So I only have a week so I didn't want to spend too much on getting false nails in a salon, instead I went to Superdrug (general drug store for non UK readers). I have used false nails before but not this brand, I am not sure what I used before but they only lasted 2 days.
I bought Brit Rock nails with a french tip but with a black and silver swirly pattern on top.
Next remove the shine off your nails, this is best done with the smoother side of a nail file or the rougher side of a nail buffer (but do not buff the nail!)
You can put the glue solely on the false nail but I prefer to to add a drop on the real nail and rub it to cover the whole nail and then add a drop on to the lower half of the false nail. Carefully pic up the false nail by the sides and place on to the nail as close to the cuticle but not on to the cuticle or the skin. Press down firmly on the nail for 30seconds so no air bubbles appear and then repeat on all nails.
I couldn't take photos of each step as it required 2 hands but here is the finished result: TADA!!
They are longer and fake looking but that is what I wanted you can get more natural looking nails as well as shorter ones which is good if you have super short nails and want a change.
If you haven't used press on nails before it is best to find a nail that a colour base so the air pockets won't show up (my ones have a pink colour and is not clear at all). This a great way to change your look for a weekend or a week but I wouldn't use them everyday.
I have had them on now for a few days, showered, bathed, packed up my room and used my nails as tools in opening jars etc (not good for your nails!) and not one has popped off yet. Buffing the shine of your nail first will really help the nails last longer.
Do you prefer real or fake post your thoughts in the comments section below.
