Work of Art...

As many of you may know I love nail art and while nail can be easy for some it is difficult for most and also tricky to do on both hands but worry no longer there is an answer! This is via Rent-Nail-Art-printer check out their website for a video demo of the printer http://www.rentnailartprinter.com/

NAIL PRINTER! Now this is not a new gadget there are similar ones that are very popular in Japanese shopping centres and other parts of the globe, even Mattel created a desk size nail art printer for Barbie where you connect it to a computer and upload or select the image you want. I have never tried these type of nail art before and I was super SUPER excited to find there was a stand at the beauty fair demonstrating the printer for salons.

Company promotional picture: smaller one is portable and the large one is for a salon.
The choice of pattern is huge with most patterns allowing changes to colour and if you are wanting something even more unique you can upload photos as well as take photos!! Now the range was so big I wanted something not overly fussy but a bit different and went for the graffiti nail pattern.

photo from company publication showing photos can be added with and without boarders.
The large machine is all touch screen and very simple to use and requires general printer ink. The ink does not go on your skin at all so it is very safe. You have a little guard put around your skin just in case the printer prints on you but there was nothing on the guard. The pattern can be adjusted to fit even the shortest of nails meaning patterns that once required nails worthy of the Guinness Book Of Records can now be worn on practical length nails.

I thought at first you might be able to feel a pressure or a slight tickle sensation when the picture is printing but in all honesty you cannot feel anything. Each nail with prepping takes 30seconds (depending on length) a base coat should be applied even if it is a colour base or gel colour. The base has to be completely dry and then the fun can happen, the ink dries very quickly and can be sealed with a gel top coat to make it last or a general top coat.

If I had this printer at home I would be changing my nails everyday just to experiment with the choices available.

The nail art printer can even print on false nails too! If the nail is already attached its the same process as on real nail but the printer can also print on to false stick on nails as well as tips in a variety of shapes and lengths.
press on nails printed.

I am really hoping this product picks up in a big way as it would be definitely be a hit in nail bars and salons especially with salon's offering Gelish, Shellac etc so the nail art will last up to 3 weeks! I am really looking forward to salons installing this as it is amazing!

  1. Great Blog. I saw this machine/printer at the the Professional Beauty 2012 fair too and was very impressed with it. I am a bit 'older'- well at least out of my twenties and wondered if there would be anything suitable for me and my short nails. Oh boy! was there. So much choice - anyway I came away with a fabulous bronze backgroud with deep magenta roses printed on my nail. It was brill. Can't wait for a digital nailart printer to be in a salon near me. i am taking the brochure I picked up into my local beauty salon I use. You never know they might decide to have a demo and have one.
