I'M FADING AWAY....

No not really but my nails are:

So this post is a nail art tutorial for super trendy nails for the weekend.

Pretty nails, it has been grey and overcast these past few days so to bring a bit of spring joy I am sticking with bright colours. The nail colours are all from H&M, when I bought them I just wanted some nail polishes for nail art and it was a pretty good price and when I got home I noticed the label:

So I think I am doing something good, not sure how green, yellow, pink and purple are all the colours needed to stop discrimination but I like the colours. The purple is a bit watery and takes a few layers to build up a colour.

I will be using the pink and purple for the tutorial.
This nail art design is great and pretty easy to do on both hands because it doesn't require you to be neat or precise with details.

So things you will need:

  • Nail polish x2 the more contrasting and bright the better.
  • A Biro that no longer works (yay recycling) or a cocktail stick/ orange stick/kirby grip
  • Top and Base coat

1. File, shape, push back your cuticle and buff your nails (only ever buff your nails maximum once a week), it is easier to push back your cuticles by applying cuticle cream or soaking in warm water. Apply a base coat, I am using Barry M Three In One Base, Top Coat and Nail Strengthener.

2. Apply your first colour to roughly half way up your nails, it doesn't have to be neat but it does have to be rather gloopy along the half way line.

3. Do NOT wait for the first colour to dry, while still wet apply the second colour as close to the first colour as you can.

You do not have to be neat along the half way line when applying the second colour

4. Either using a broken Biro/orange stick/tooth pick/kirby grip start to smudge the colours into each other. take colour from both sides and move them into each other, lines and smudges add to the effect.
Yay recycling an old Biro for nail art!

5. Flap your hands/ blow on your nails/spray nail drying stuff/wait patiently till your nails dry

6. Apply a topcoat to your nails

7. Repeat step 5.

8. Stand back and admire your work of art.

Hope you enjoyed this nail art guide and your nails.
