Magnetic Attraction...

If anyone has ever gone down a Wiki spiral and searched nail varnish it says that at one point the application of nail art was seen as self mutilation and unhealthy by psychiatrists. Thankfully psychiatrists don't think that any more.

If anyone missed the last nail art how to blog Click Here for Leopard Print nail art. However if you have trouble getting in touch with your inner artist then here is a new product that takes the hassle out of nail art even if you find it difficult to draw a stick figure on paper.

Barry M and many other brands have launched Magnetic Polish. The polish is infused with magnetic particles that when a magnet is placed over it draws the particles to form a pattern. Barry polishes come with 3 different Magentic Patterns: the Union Jack/Cross, wavy lines, straight lines.

I chose the Union Jack/Cross pattern with Blue polish as I really loved the colour and with Euro 2012 and the Olypics this year I thought it was more appropriate and I would wear it more.

So first apply a base coat, I am using Barry M Basecoat, Topcoat and Nail Hardener:

.
Nails with basecoat

Then apply a thin 1st coat of the Magentic nail polish. (you do not  put the magnet on top):

Once dry apply a layer of the colour one nail at a time. I recomened doing one nail at a time as the result will be better. Shake the bottle vigourasly (I suggest doing this before painting each nail, it is time consuming but the results will be so much better) and then paint a layer of polish. Before this dries take the magnetic top and hover over the nail. There is a black tab on the magnet I recomend placing this on the nail so that you don't end up touching the magnet to the nail.

You can see there is a slight curved ledge

Place the ledge on the finger not the nail

Hover the magnet for a count of 10-15 depending on the effect. For a cross a count of 10 is sufficient for a Union Jack effect count to 15. If the pattern doesn't show up or messes up you can just paint on top of it and hold the magnet over again.

Flap your arm, blow on your nails or simply sit patiently and wait till your nails are dry and add a top coat then repeat your drying technique.

Et Voila! The easiest nail art that anyone can achieve.
